Technology Breakthroughs
During the space program many technology breakthroughs have occurred. Including lunar cameras, microelectronics, Velcro, Tang, etc.
These are examples of technology breakthroughs because: Lunar Cameras - Created and used to take and observe clear images in space. Used to help look at space without actually going out to space. It has accurate composition for both still and video in any light conditions. Microelectronics - Microelectronics is a subfield of electronics. Microelectronics relate to the study and manufacture, or microfabrication of very small electronic designs and components. They are used to make things small in a micro-meter scale or even smaller. Velcro - This contributes a lot to the space program. It allowed astronauts to store things along the walls of the space craft. Velcro is even used to help astronauts move in and out of their bulky space suits. NASA makes significant use of Velcro, it anchors equipment's, used in space suits, attaches trays to the astronauts thighs then they eat meals, and is even used as a nose scratcher. Tang - Tang is a type of food that astronauts eat while they are in space. It is a freeze dried food used by the U.S. spaceflight program. Astronauts use tang as a drink mix while on flights for the space program. |
